As usual, I took a lot of photos (plus some audio and video clips). If you don't want to go through them all (and who would?), here are my (clickable) recommendations:
The highlights of our full trip:
CHINA:
The most spectacular scenery was in Guilin and Yangshuo. If you want the best parts, see our river cruises from Guilin and Yangshuo, and the view from the mountaintop in Guilin.
Shanghai had the best temple, museum and Chinese garden. We saw them all in these two days.
The Summer Palace in Beijing had the most beautiful buildings and lake we saw in China. We went back again and saw more of it.
Our Yangtze River cruise took nine days. If you just want the high spots, look at the Lesser Three Gorges, Qutang Gorge, the Three Gorges Dam, and some interesting boat traffic.
JAPAN:
We arrived during cherry blossom time, by a combination of planning and luck. A few of the best photos are from Tokyo's Hama-riku Garden, and the Philosopher's Path in Kyoto. But we saw cherry blossoms all over Japan.
The most interesting buildings we saw in Japan were in Kyoto and Nara.
KOREA: Wandering around near our hotel was pretty neat
For our Viking River Cruise friends who want to see the 16 day tour we took together, start here.
