The hundreds of shops and stalls are tourist shopping heaven. They sell carvings, prayer wheels, thangkas (intricate religious wall hangings), t-shirts, carpets, necklaces of turquoise, coral and colored stones, wooden and metal masks - an incredible variety of items.
